Conservation isn't a department here.

It's everyone.

Conservation sounds simple on paper. Protect the wildlife, protect the land. In practice, it takes a whole team pulling in the same direction, local hands and global partners, quiet daily work and long-term vision, all working together to make it possible.

No single team could carry that alone. So at Mugie, nobody does.

Meet the Mugie Team

The frontline. They patrol on foot, on horseback and alongside bloodhounds that can follow a scent for days across dozens of kilometres. Long hours, real risk and the quiet job most people picture when they hear the word "conservation."

Security - Rangers, K9 Unit & ICT

Long before "conservancy" was in the name, this was a working farm and it still is.

Herders moving cattle across the plains, a dairy herd milked every morning, a butchery turning livestock into food for the camp and community, small plots of fruit and vegetables tended by hand. This is the part of Mugie’s story that proves conservation and agriculture don’t have to compete.

Fence, Road & Vehicle Maintenance

The bridge between the wild and the neighbouring villages, the ones who make sure every decision on this land accounts for the people living alongside it too.

Community & Conservation Teams

"Mugie doesn't work in isolation and neither does Laikipia."
A nod to the wider collaboration across Laikipia's conservancies, shared corridors, shared intelligence, shared purpose. Worth a specific mention of the Laikipia Wildlife Forum or similar collaborative body here if you want a concrete anchor — I'd verify current involvement/name before publishing.

Tourism & Partnerships

Nobody names an award after a well-maintained fence line.

But nothing else runs without it. Roads graded, water systems checked, vehicles kept alive on punishing terrain, an endless list, tackled one repair at a time, so the rest of Mugie can keep moving.

Conservation held together, quite literally, by people with spanners and fencing pliers.

Operations — HR, Accounts, Reception

The quiet infrastructure. Every patrol, every project, every guest experience runs through someone at a desk, first.

The quiet infrastructure holding everything else together.
